Our software is used extensively in transcription. Because of that, I thought we should set aside a page for medical, legal, and other transcriptionists. Here we plan to feature software -- ours and eventually that of other developers -- that would be of value to transcriptionists. So feel free to download any of the software you find here and try it out FREE OF CHARGE. Use Envelope Printer to address envelopes, including return addresses. It will also keep for you a database of all addresses, print in either landscape or portrait mode, and print on any size envelope. This program works with all versions of Windows. The new Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP version can also print POSTNET bar codes, images, and messages on your envelopes.

The Abacus for MS Word is an Add-In program that will count the number of lines in your Word documents. Use it with MS Word 97/2000/2002 and Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP. It runs from within Word, counts the number of lines in the current (active) document or counts lines in a series of documents, and then saves the name, date, and line count in a special log file. You can then view and edit the log file, print it out, create new log files, and use them for billing your clients.

The pc Spooler is a printer spooler for use with DOS. It is a terminate-and-stay-resident (TSR) program that will take up only a tiny amount of your computer's memory, but greatly speed up printing jobs. The spooler will hold in memory all the data that you are sending to your printer, and then send it out to the printer as soon as the printer is ready for it. By allowing the spooler to perform this job for you, control of the computer is returned to you almost immediately so that you don't have to wait on the printer before moving on to another job.

Sight 'n' Sound Screen Saver is our new screen saver that you can personalize. Use it to display bitmap (BMP, standard Windows images) pictures when the saver becomes active. You choose the pictures and how often they change. Download this trial version which limits you to 6 pictures and 60 seconds between picture displays. You may also select music to play when the screen saver is activated. Choose between playing songs or sounds as standard waveaudio (WAV files), as midi (MID) files, or even play an audio CD. The full, registered version allows you to use as many images as you want, and lets you determine how many seconds or minutes the image stays on the screen before it changes.
